NIAGARA RIM 4X4 TRAIL

The Niagara Rim Trail is a moderately difficult trail; located in the Stanislaus National Forest off Highway 108 above Strawberry. The trail is approximately six (6) miles long and takes about three hours to complete, barring difficulties. Modified 4x4 vehicles are best for this trail but as, "The Guide to California 4-Wheel Drive Trails" states, "experienced drivers in high clearance, well equipped SUV's can get through if they avoid the extreme parts."

4x4 In Motion adopted this trail after a partnership was formed with Ranger Lloyd Berry, he gave the club the opportunity to work on the trail as well as building a fence protecting Barn Meadow. The club frequently runs the trail to maintain it; opens it when the snow melts in Spring and closes it when the snow comes in the Fall.

The club sponsors the Niagara Rim Poker Run in July.
